A PlexiDor Wall Series pet door can be installed into stud, brick, block or cement exterior walls up to 12 inches thick. Each wall unit includes an aluminum tunnel kit that connects the interior and exterior frames. The tunnel materials ensure a professional fit and finish that provides a quality appearance for your home. The bottom section of the wall tunnel has an outward slope to prevent water from entering your home. The tunnel will not rust, has no sharp edges and is easy to keep clean.

I want to get the large pet door for my dog, but I am concerned about a person fitting through it.
PlexiDor Pet Doors sizes medium - extra large come with a 20 gauge steel locking cover. This cover can be used to keep your doggy in. It also can be used to keep intruders from entering your home. Security consultants agree that dogs are a good burglar deterrent, especially one that barks. If you want to leave your pet door open make sure the gate to access your yard is locked and you post a Beware of Dog sign.
Can a large dog & cat use the same door?
Yes, PlexiDor saloon-styled dog doors easily open and close with a gentle touch.
How do I know what size is best for my dog?
When installing the pet door you want it to clear the top of your dog's back by 1-2 inches, minimum. You also want the step over to be comfortable. Lastly you want the width to allow your pet to go through without touching the sides. Here's a measurement guide with tips on how to determine the correct size. Make sure you get the right size for your pet.
Are the panels prone to breaking?
PlexiDor uses a Exclusive Shatter Resistant K9 Composite™, a material similar to aircraft windshields. The chance of them breaking is VERY unlikely.
Are PlexiDor Dog Doors energy efficient?
PlexiDor doors feature insulated plexiglass panels that are tinted for UV resistance. The tops and sides of each panel are lined with high density industrial weather seal for maximum energy efficiency. This helps keep your summer air conditioning and winter heating inside your home saving you money every month.
How long do the door springs last?
High performance springs took PlexiDor engineers 5 years to develop. To maintain their cycles, each spring is superheated to 500 degrees. The spring is warranted for a period of 10 years. The design exceeds the industry standard by 10 times.
Can the PlexiDor freeze shut, so the dog can’t go in or out?
It is very rare for the PlexiDor pet door to freeze shut, but it can happen in extreme cases when there is a combination of cold and condensation.
I see other brands with a sliding security cover, is that an option with PlexiDor?
Yes, you need the Sliding Track Kit. Once installed you can slide your security panel into place and secure it with the Flip Lock. Please contact our sales team for more information.
What colors are available?
We offer three colors, White, Bronze, and Silver.
I am concerned about the rain hitting the door and getting inside, is there a solution for this?
Yes, we offer the PlexiDor Dog Door Awning. The PlexiDor Awning can help prevent rain from entering through your pet door. It comes in two color options, White, and Bronze. Please contact our sales team for more information.
Can the panels be replaced?
PlexiDor features replaceable panels on all models except the large plus and Extra large models.
Is it hard to teach a pet to use the door?
Pets generally catch on to the idea quickly. Prop the panels open and tempt your cat or dog with a treat. Once they go through with the panels open, try the same thing with panels closed. Many pets who won’t use other pet doors still like the PlexiDor because they can see the other side through the panel.
Can I lock the pet door?
PlexiDor features two locking functions, a key lock for quick and easy locking, and a steel security plate that mounts into the face of the door for longer term security.
How often will I need to replace the panels?
PlexiDor K9 Composite™ panels are very durable and come with a 10 year warranty.
Is the PlexiDor - Wall the same as PlexiDor - Door?
The saloon-styled panel sizes your pet goes through are the same size between the two models. The door model does not require the has a tunnel that connects the inner and outer sections.
Do I need a professional to install my PlexiDor?
