Product Details

The one-piece replacement insert from Glass Pet Doors gives your dog easy access to the outdoors. Safety tempered shatterproof glass insert replaces the glass insert in a single French Door or on either side of double French Doors. The insert includes a large factory-installed PlexiDor Dog Door that accommodates most dogs weighing 40 to 100 lbs. Your dog must be able to step over 8" to 10" in height. This size is ideal for Golden Retrievers, Collies, Labradors, German Shepherds, Dobermans, Pointers, and Boxers. PlexiDor's exclusive K9 Composite thermopane panels are saloon style and do not require costly replacement flaps.

The four edges of both panels come equipped with a high-density industrial nylon pile weather seal. This design produces the highest level of energy efficiency compared to any pet door on the market. PlexiDor's design keeps heating and cooling inside your home. Installing a PlexiDor Dog Door will save you money. Homeowners have reported their energy bills decreased by 10% annually after installing a PlexiDor. Security features include a cylinder lock, two keys, and a steel security plate.

The PlexiDor can be locked nightly, and the steel security plate can be attached while you're away.   • Does the pet door need to be installed on the door that swings open?

    The new glass with pet door can go on either the fixed side or the swinging side.

  • How long does it take to install?

    I would plan on 30 min to 1 hour depending on your comfort.

  • Can a large dog & small dog use the same door?

  • How does my small dog use the door if he cant reach it?

  • Do I need a professional to install my PlexiDor Door Glass?

    This product can be installed by anyone with ambition to take on the project. If you feel less comfortable taking it on we would suggest a handyman.   • Whats are the benefits of a pet door in glass vs the wall or a door?

  • Are PlexiDor Dog Doors energy efficient?

    PlexiDor doors feature insulated plexiglass panels that are tinted for UV resistance. The tops and sides of each panel are lined with high density industrial weather seal for maximum energy efficiency.   • How long do the door springs last?

    High performance springs took PlexiDor engineers 5 years to develop. To maintain their cycles, each spring is superheated to 500 degrees. The spring is warranted for a period of 10 years. The design exceeds the industry standard by 10 times.

  • Can the PlexiDor freeze shut, so the dog can’t go in or out?

    It is very rare for the PlexiDor pet door to freeze shut, but it can happen in extreme cases when there is a combination of cold and condensation.

  • I see other brands with a sliding security cover, is that an option with PlexiDor?

    Yes, you need the Sliding Track Kit. Once installed you can slide your security panel into place and secure it with the Flip Lock. Please contact our sales team for more information.

  • Can the PlexiDor panels be replaced?

    PlexiDor features replaceable panels on all models except the large plus and Extra large models.

  • Is it hard to teach a pet to use the door?

    Pets generally catch on to the idea quickly. Prop the panels open and tempt your cat or dog with a treat. Once they go through with the panels open, try the same thing with panels closed. Many pets who won’t use other pet doors still like the PlexiDor because they can see the other side through the panel.

  • Can I lock the pet door?

    PlexiDor features two locking functions, a key lock for quick and easy locking, and a steel security plate that mounts into the face of the door for longer term security.

  • How often will I need to replace the panels?

    PlexiDor K9 Composite™ panels are very durable and come with a 10 year warranty.
