I want to get the large pet door for my dog, but I am concerned about a person fitting through it.
All Security Boss Pet Doors come with a locking cover. This cover can be used to keep you doggy in. It also can be used to keep intruders from entering your home. It is made from a special composite that is 1⁄2" thick. Security consultants agree that dogs are a good burglar deterrent, especially one that barks. If you want to leave your pet door open make sure the gate to access your yard is locked and you post a Beware of Dog sign.
Can a large dog & cat use the same double flap door?
We have numerous customers who have multiple pets. Even the largest, Behemoth, size can be used by the household cat. You will notice that while dogs go head first through the pet door flaps, cats will use their paws to gently push the corner of the flap.
How do I know what size is best for my dog?
When installing the pet door you want it to clear the top of your dog's back by 1-2 inches, minimum. You also want the step over to be comfortable. Lastly you want the width to allow your pet to go through without touching the sides. Here's a measurement guide with tips on how to determine the correct size.
Do I need a Single Or Dual Flap Model?
Most customers select the dual flap model if the pet door leads directly to the outside or to an unheated garage. The dual flap version will provide superior insulation, while the single flap is used for very temperate climates, going from one room to another within the house or if from porches and lanais to the outside. Remember, a pet door is an open access to the outdoors, you may be rest easier with the seal and barrier of a dual flap model.
What is the difference between the Security Boss and Security Boss - Pro?
The Security Boss - Pro has a unique aluminum hinged flap connection which can help prevent the flaps from tearing. The Pro also comes with a 1" thick security door.
Do I need a professional to install my Security Boss Door?

Are there color options other than White?
Yes, they are available in Tan, Brown, Aluminum, and Bronze.
I have a concrete block wall. I believe the block itself is 8" so adding the furring strip, drywall and stucco it is 10-11". Will this door fit?
For all installation locations more than 2" thick, you will need the wall mount version.
Is this a good dog door for garage door installations?
You can install this in pretty much any door application, however most doors from the house to the garage have a fire rating so you need to check your local code to see it installing it is allowed.
Is the Security Boss - Door the same as the Security Boss - Wall?
Yes! The flap and frames are identical, the only difference would be the hardware that is included for installation.
